Healing through breathwork
Zoe observed that certain situations seemed to trigger an uncomfortable stress response and she wanted to explore its significance and work on it in session. She had been analyzing and working on it in various ways for a few years but it persisted.
We explored it through dialogue while she held her attention on the uncomfortable feelings in the body. As she mindfully explored the uncomfortable state, she could see it was related to shame.
She began her breathwork, breathing into and holding her awareness on the shame and related discomfort. She spontaneously went into a deep state of consciousness and had a vision, a plant being lifted from the floor of the ocean with all of its roots. She intuitively knew that she had reached and liberated the roots of the issue.
Upon returning to her normal, waking state, a thought crossed her mind that would have typically set off her shame and stress response. She experienced only peace. In the days and weeks following the session, this occurred many more times and the stress response never returned.
