–Who says there has to be something wrong with our lives or ourselves in order for us to decide to come to therapy?
Yes, sometimes our lives are falling apart, we are experiencing personal, relational and other life difficulties that we do not have perspective on and therefore, do not know how to navigate. At other times, we may observe that we are repeating patterns and not getting anywhere with ourselves or our lives. If you think about it, none of these scenarios imply that, “There is something wrong with me.”
In fact, they simply tell us that I am in a mess, ill equipped to understand my situation or lack the tools I require to make the situation more wholesome, meaningful and meaning-making.
